The children at St Peter and St Paul Infant School are so young that their gifts and talents are very much at the emergent stage, so it is imperative to work with all children to develop their knowledge, creativity and life skills.
The school also believes that there is a wide variety of gifts and talents, many of which cannot be measured in academic terms and that some gifts and talents are latent because of factors such as frustration, low self-esteem, disabilities or low adult expectation.
We therefore aim to have high expectations and provide carefully differentiated and open-ended activities which are all fundamental to outstanding learning.
This richness of provision is supported not only by the curriculum but also by special themed days, whole-school curricular topics and additional sporting opportunities. These enable children to explore and apply skills and knowledge and engage in problem solving activities so awakening interest and increasing motivation.
