Learning Council

The strength of pupil voice is important at St Peter and St Paul Infant School. The staff believe that pupils should be heard both in lessons and in decisions where appropriate. They are often extremely aware of how they learn best and what could be done to improve things further.

Our School Council is one way that the views of our pupils are heard and feel a valued part of the whole school community. It is made up of 8 children - four each from Year 1 and Year 2. Two from each class are elected by the children and two are chosen by the class teacher. They meet regularly under the guidance of a member of staff to suggest ways of making their school even better. They also helped staff to choose the school values and rules and sometimes lead whole school assemblies on topics such as e-safety or bullying. They are regularly interviewed by governors and other visitors during monitoring visits and by members of staff, to determine how well the school is doing.
