Pupil wellbeing is of the utmost importance to all members of the school community. This is evident in every aspect of school life e.g. securing the gates at the start of the day, risk assessing activities including trips, providing the new Reception children with Year 2 buddies, ensuring staff and volunteers are appropriately trained in child protection issues and have Disclosure and Barring Service checks.

The school also works hard to support pupil well-being by using trained staff to provide social skills training, nurture groups and counselling. The staff are vigilant in identifying those pupils who are vulnerable at any time and in taking steps to ensure information is communicated so that they can have the best possible care. British Values

The Department for Education recently reminded schools of the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

At St Peter & St Paul Church Primary School these link closely with the culture and ethos of our school, as we recognise and value everyone as individuals. The values we promote support the development of the children’s understanding of these concepts and are clearly demonstrated in the following ways:
