Monday

WALT: plan a familiar recount.

Using the GRID plan, plan your own version of a recount using the model text.

Have a think about where else the recount could be, what type of setting could it be?

Instead of a deep, mysterious forest, could it be a eerie, murky cave?

When writing your plan, make sure to change where the recount is set.

Wednesday

WALT: write a recount.

From our plan from Monday, we are going to have a go at writing our own recount.

Read through your plan and orally talk it aloud.

Make sure to include;

- alliteration

- sentence openers

- time words (First, Next etc)

- punctuation

- First person

- Chronological order

Thursday

WALT: edit and improve a recount.

Today we are going to be looking at our recount. Remember that in a recount we must include capital letters to start a sentence, capital letters for proper nouns e.g. February, full stops, commas, question marks, exclamation marks.

We are going to be reading through our recounts and checking to make sure we have included all the following;

- alliteration

- sentence openers

- time words

- punctuation

- first person

- chronological order

If you haven't included all of the above, re-read the recount and try to include these in it to improve it.

Friday

WALT: sequence events of a story.

Today we are going to be looking at a story called 'Tuesday' by David Wiesner.

We are going to be ordering the events of the story. Verbally talk the story and then sequence the story onto a piece of paper.
