Medicine Forms

The school appreciates that there are occasions when a child needs on-going or occasional medication or to be given some pain relief during the course of the school day. This is only ever under certain conditions to ensure pupils’ safety. The office staff voluntarily administer such medication overseen by the Headteacher. This practice supports Local Authority and school guidance concerning children’s absence from school following the contraction of illness as follows:

Children suffering infectious conditions must not be sent to school.

Children should have 48 hours at home after a bout of diarrhoea and vomiting. This time is measured from the child's last symptom.
