Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.

Each year we are allocated additional funding (Pupil Premium or PP) for pupils who are eligible for free school meals, or have been eligible in the past 6 years and pupils who have been adopted from care or are looked after by the local authority.

We are also given additional service Pupil premium (SPP)  funding for every pupil with a parent who is serving in HM Forces or has retired on a pension from the Ministry of Defence.

Details of how the funding is spent is included in the strategy below.

Our strategy is reviewed termly by our Inclusion lead, Rosie Burgess, who is also the Headteacher. The Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team approve the strategy, support its implementation and monitor its impact as part of our whole school monitoring cycle.
